About Ecotone Land Design Inc.
Ecotone Land Design, Inc. provides landscape architectural design and consulting for homes, commercial sites, resort amenities, government campuses and conservation settings by emphasizing green, sustainable, low impact strategies and planning the detail needed to make an inspiration come to life by blending hardscape, greenscape, natural habitat, etc. into a seamlessly designed experience. Whether consulting on a green roof, Florida Friendly urban park, xeriscape requirements, bioretention rain garden environment, LEED certification, or rural estate, the firm seeks to analyze a property's ecological, aesthetic and structural qualities and develop a plan that meets the functional requirements of the owner and government codes, while preserving and enhancing the natural and historic qualities that are inherent to sites throughout the Orlando area and across Florida.
Mark Lanier Johnson, RLA, MLA heads up the firm's effort to structure the landscape environment for both aesthetic and functional purposes by striving to plan great experiences while sustaining the beauty and ecological value of a site. Johnson has been involved with community and site planning, planting design, hardscape design and detailing in communities throughout the Southeast, since receiving his Master of Landscape Architecture degree from the University of Georgia in 1992. Based near St. Cloud and Kissimmee, Johnson has also served as an adjunct faculty at the Rollins College Hamilton Holt School of Environmental Studies for courses ranging from place making, Mixed Use and Transit Oriented Development to Green Infrastructure.
